- I love the size of this pin, but it was so dull and lackluster that I was extremely disappointed wiht it. It doesn't have the brilliance that you see on the website.

There are 3 types of materials commonly used for watch crystals: plexiglas, mineral glass, and synthetic sapphire. The harder the material, the more scratch resistant it is. However, as the hardness increases it becomes more difficult to polish and more susceptible to cracking and shattering. Sapphire crystals are the hardest and most expensive of the bunch, consisting of the same thing that the jewels in your watch's movement are made of: corundum. The only harder element is diamond. These crystals are 3 times harder than mineral glass and up to 20 times harder than plexiglas. Corundum is crystallized aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and is clear in it's pure state. Rubies and sapphires get their color from impurities - the red in ruby comes from traces of chromium and the blue in sapphire occurs because of the presence of iron and titanium. I was wondering where all you guys go for information about watches and deals on watches. Do you just hang around in the forums or are there any good places on Facebook and Twitter that you check out as well? Looking for some ideas. Thanks.
...well, for a while at least.Delivered to me today was this beautiful Christopher Ward C8 Pilot. A watch that really fascinates me for some reason. The feel of it is just unlike any of my other watches, the movement seems buttery smooth, everything about it just feels right. It came in a really beautiful package, which I left in my office unfortunately, so it is not included in this shoot. The pictures are a little large so I will only post one, if you want to see the rest click the links.http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4066/...807e0426_o.jpghttp://farm5.static.flickr.com/4007/...d5f7fce2_o.jpghttp://farm5.static.flickr.com/4042/...47330c15_o.jpghttp://farm3.static.flickr.com/2695/...72749b2c_o.jpg
I recently purchased a 5167A from a seller here. The strap that is currently on it has C09. I ordered a replacement strap through an AD (twice now) and was sent a C10. The first told me that the C10 is the only strap, so I ordered it through a second AD, and they also sent a C10. They are working to find out the difference and replace it with a C09. I am surprised that they are not familiar with the differences, and a little concerned that this is even an issue. Which is correct? Where have you ordered replacements?
