What is this late 40's Hamilton??
My Dad received this watch from his parents for an engagement present. He got engaged in November 1949. So it is most likely from somewhere between 1947 to 1049. Unless he is confused and it was actually a wedding present (1951) or even a high school graduation gift (41?). But he is pretty sure that it was an engagement gift.Does anyone know what it is?And what about the band. It says 14kt on the clasp. Was this a standard band back then or was this some kind of an upgrade at the time?I do know why he never wore the watch though (I plan to). (its going to be a long story...)made a last minute decision yesterday afternoon to get a set of matching Omega watches instead of jewllery as part of wedding present to ourselves (more like an excuse for me to get more watches....). the W2B is an Omega girl, and she would not wear anything else (almost)so went to a couple of shops yesterday evening and tried a gents Constallation, hated it. I dont know why Omega has very limited ladies watches.anyway, i was thinking of his & her Seamaster 300m, then realised it isnt formal enough for wedding, and I have been wanting a Speedmaster to the collection. spotted 40mm silver faced Speedmaster Date and a matching ladies 35.5mm Speedmaster Reduced (the one with Mother of Pearl dial) from the catelogue, so the quest began.... 5980R thoughts
Evening,I am currently an owner of a 5205R-010, but have decided to try and find something a little more sporty in style so that it suits my dress style a bit better and so I should get even more usage out of it.This led me to consider a number of watches, but today I viewed a 5980R on leather strap. I was extremely impressed by this watch in terms of wrist presence and the beauty of the proportions, dial and rose gold. I do love the full gold bracelet model, but it is too flashy for me to use frequently and I still have my girls' tuition fees to pay ha! As such I am certainly interested in moving forward with the 5980R on leather strap, albeit viewing a platinum Daytona tomorrow, but thought I should put it to the experts here as to some thoughts on the watch. What are thoughts of the PP chronograph, of the Rose Gold design and strap integration? Anything previous owners have gotten sick of or current owners remain in love with this reference?

What do you guys think of this aftermarket bracelet.
I always wanted a steel braclet for my Pam but I was not going to pay $3000+ only on a steel bracelet. So one day surfing the web I bought this aftermarket steel bracelet that fit perfectly for my Pam.I presonally think it looks great. Now what do you guys think.
