Chopard 5119 wrist watches news:
Lou Gehrig needs no introduction. In 1928, he received a Hamilton Piping Rock wristwatch for winning the World Series. In 2011, it came up for sale, and we covered it here. The watch ended up selling for $155,000. Just this past week, it went under the hammer again at SCP auctions. The result? A final selling price of more than DOUBLE what it brought just three years ago. 2 OF 2 With a final sale price of $340,200, this continues to make a case for provenance driven sales. The Hamilton Piping Rock is a very interesting, and relatively desirable American wristwatch, but by no means very valuable. To see a result this strong, one twice as strong as what we saw in 2011, means that provenance is more valuable than ever. You can read more about the sale right here.
Where can I order a 20mm black nylon Nato band?thanks
I am the antithesis of a watch snob. However, I have some mental aversion to watches that display the Swiss Movt marking at the 6. Anyone else feel this way. I have no problem at all with "Japan Movt" on the dial and own a couple of Grand Divers that display this marking. Something about that I don't mind. I really like the looks of some of the older Renatos and have always wanted one, but the Swiss Movt marking has prevented a purchase. Why can't they just leave it blank if it is not Swiss Made. It seems to be an overt advertisement that most of the watch is made elsewhere.
My attempt at a lume shot here. I think it came out rather well. Wanted to go darker but my point and shoot camera was not up to that task. Hope you enjoy it guys!
Well today I went for a little drive and decided to go into this local mall. They have an Omega AD there and to say the least they provided the royal treatment and was impressed. Spent quite some time in there getting catalogues from Tag Heuer (the new hard cover one), Baume & Mercier, and the 2008 Omega book. The salesman insisted I take them to have a look and see if anything catches my eye so what the hey. They now have the new SeaMaster as some of you may already know. The watch is the exact same but the dial and bezel insert are black like the 16610 Submariner. Take a look and sorry if some of those pictures came out a bit blurry.
