Cartier W31089M7 wrist watches news:
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Jerome Mage (JM): My name is Jerome Mage, and I am the co-founder and creative director for MARCH LA.B. We are an independent watchmaker with offices in Biarritz and LA (Alain Marhic, the founder of MARCH LA.B, is working from France while I am in Los Angeles).ABTW: What was your first grail watch?JM: My first grail watch was definitely the Jaeger le Coultre Reverso, a watch that represents elegance, class, and intelligence. It has a real beauty - a perfect balance between purity of lines and subtle line engraving that is eponymous of the art deco period. I used to browse the windows of stores of jewelers in Paris when I was 17, 18 years old. Daydreaming of one day owning this watch. As of late, I became obsessed with
This is one of the most ambitious Corum watches in years. Limited to just a few pieces, this tour de force of watch complications and the base Admiral's Cup watch design will be released in the first half of next year. The totally new movement features a tourbillon as well as a minute repeater (interestingly activated by twisting the entire bezel). The watch features three sapphire crystals. One is smoked and placed as the watch dial through which you can view the movement. Read more about the Corum Admiral's Cup Minute Repeater Tourbillon watch in my article here at Haute Living. Last night at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City, we were proud to attend the NY premiere of David Armstrong's The Watchmaker's Apprentice. The documentary film, shot in very last days of master watchmaker George Daniels' life, goes on to tells us not only of Daniels' contributions to horology, but also his relationship with his one and only true apprentice – Mr. Roger Smith. We'll have a recap of last night's events shortly, but first, we wanted to tell you what Roger Smith, arguably one of the finest watchmakers alive, was wearing. It might surprise you. 1 OF 1 One might assume Mr. Smith would be wearing one of his own watches – maybe a Series 2 or a Daniels Anniversary watch? Not so. You see, Mr. Smith's workshop of eight people (himself plus seven watchmakers) produces just 10 watches per year. Ten. So, if he were to take one piece of the production out for himself, that would limit his profitability by 10% and he simply can'
