I finally got around to setting up the light box to take some shots of the new Breitling. I didn't use the 40D; I used the Canon G10 on a tripod with a remote release. This is one of the few that I'm happy with:
Fun to have options. I rather like omegas on fabric and Rolex on bracelets.
What a beast! As much as I wanted to like the watch the exhibition case back ruins the fit imho. It could have been sooo perfect at ~42mm and with a solid case back! Why Omega!? You managed to stuff that 9300 into the less-cumbersome '57 speedy (41.5mm). Speaking of, I like the '57 speedy but not the PCLs and again with the bubble exhibition case back! That being said it does wear better than the 9300.At first I tried to convince myself that the size was okay and then glaced back into the case to see old reliable 3570.50 in all its warm hesalite glory... All of the sudden the 9300s weren't acceptable anymore. My love for the 3570.50 was rekindled and should be back on my wrist within the next two weeks. In a sense it was a blessing as I’ll be saving enough to buy the 3570.5 outright again. Just have to find that right one at a good price now.
Random question here. Anyone know what the limitations are to making a cyclops crystal for Rolexes from one solid piece of sapphire crystal. My understanding is that they currently are two pieces correct? I think for watches as iconic as Rolex¡¯s, it would have been something already figured out.
