Hi all, just joined the forum and have enjoyed looking and all the posts and photos on the site but now i am looking for some advice.I've got a Breitling Navitimer which is my first automatic watch, i am looking for some advice on keeping the watch wound and for general day to day care of my watch.I don't wear the watch the watch every day and want to keep the time correct, am i best to wind it up, shake it every now and again or use a watch winder?Also what is the best thing to do when it has stopped if it has not been worn for a few days, should i wind it up or put it on my wrist and shake it to give it a charge? I don't want to damage the watch!thanks

Since my colleagues learned of my interest in watches, I'm the go to guy for watch questions amongst the group at work. We are spread out across the country so when we get together for meetings, I'm often overwhelmed with questions about watches. While it's quite fun to see the passion ignite in a non-watch person, I also get numerous calls with questions like, "my Submariner stopped. How long to I have to shake my wrist to get it moving again?" I almost recommended he buy a GMT watch as a reminder that end of business day in Seattle is dinner time for me in Boston.Once you get past the "it cost HOW much?" it is enjoyable sharing my knowledge with others [when prompted]. There are nine members of my division. Since ~June of last year, my colleagues have purchased a SS Sub, a TT sub, black dial Explorer II and an Omega 2254.50!! I had a hand in all four transactions. I sent/emailed the guys website links, images and old catalogs (I can't seem to throw away the nicely printed catalogs).

20 years old - First Rolex purchase...thoughts?
Hello All! My name is Brian and i am a 22 year old college student. i started a small online business at age 18, and was lucky enough to be able to afford my own Rolex by age 20. Im not saying this to boast, but rather the opposite actually. The business i got into is pretty lucrative, not Yacht-Master Lucrative, but i do pretty well. I see everyone with these watches that look like Holy Grails, and mine seems like it doesn't even compare so i mention my age only to defend myself lol. With that being said i personally like the dress style more than the sport watches, id love to own a day date one day. I just couldn't do an air king - i need the date more then the time quite honestly. So for my very first rolex i purchased a 6694 Oysterdate for $1600. currently im having the end pieces replaced, and the watch serviced and expect to have it back in a few weeks.
