My wife and I are expecting our first this Fall. We were married on October 16, 2009. He will be born sometime in October 2010. I thought I'd get him a watch produced in 2010. I have it narrowed down to two: Nomos Ludwig, and a Stowa Marine with Roman Numerals and polished case. I realize that these are two very different watches. The Nomos has a in house movement, is much smaller (36MM), thinner, and more of a dress watch. It's also about 1/3 more $$$ than the Stowa. The Stowa is about 42MM, has an Unitas movement, is much thicker, and more of a sport watch. The Stowa has a much longer history than the Nomos, but the Nomos has a pretty good following here. Any experiences with these two brands???Any monetary contributions will also be accepted for his watch fund!!!
This is what's written on it: Patek Philippe & CieGeneveF. Michaelsen. RomeNot sure about opening it up to show the movement... I don't want to mess it all up.Thanks in advance. How much would it be nowadays? I'm thinking about bringing it to maintenance.
