- The back light is green , not blue. No count down timer. 10 year battery is really not rated for 10 years if you A. use alarm B. use the back light . Otherwise for $16 and change its a pretty sweet deal.

Hello all, I¡¯m new here and honestly haven¡¯t read too many post yet. Please forgive me if this has been covered recently. But I am just about to give up my search for any watch that has a particular list of functions. Because of my job I spend as much time working in darkness as I do light. Because of that I need a watch that has a backlight that shows most if not all the information on a watch dial. Such as Timex¡¯s Indiglo, however Casio¡¯s LED lights suck (which is on most of their G-shock), and therefore will not work. Casio¡¯s EL backlight is good, but they don¡¯t couple that with the other features I like. Citizen claims that only the Skyhawk fits my criteria, but at night the analog feature is useless. Now comes the picky part. I like watches that don¡¯t need battery replacements if at all possible. Like Solar, or Kinetic etc. Atomic time keeping, with a date that displays day of week, and day of month. All this coupled with an analog face. Oh, and it absolutely has to be water resis
Hey guys,I've been lurking around for some time and currently set my mind to finaly hit the buck with either the nautilus 5980 black dial or the ap legacyI am open to hear your thoughts on these two watches specially in terms of value retaining.Bear in mind i am an owner of an e serial ROOThank u in advance
Good afternoon all, yes a very good afternoon indeed. FedEx just dropped off my first ever Panerai. A special thank you to Paul, Cru, Nicholas and Nick for the inspiration and the PM exchanges. This one's a beauty! The 690, one ive beem eyeballing since last July. Its lightweight compared to what I'm used to. The size isn't a problem and it wears super comfortable on my 7 flat shaped wrist! What I really love is the gorgeous blue dial! As many of you know I have a thing for blue dials and this one is truly spectacular! It changes in different light and gives off a beautiful cobalt sunburst blue color ... very hard to describe but it gorgeous, (now I know what you're talking about Paul). This is the first handwound watch I've ever owned and I was a bit reluctant at first but I think I'll delevop a bond with this one!I'd also like to say a special thank you to the forums most excellent DSW. It was a pleasure dealing with you sir! Thanks again to all you enablers.Cheers all!Sent
... on the straps! There are just so many color combos and makers that I had to try a few of them right off the bat. This is going to be a long post with lots, lots of photos! First, a very nice, handmade, strap case by Rob Montana (The Strap Smith):In case anyone is curious, the straps are, from left to right (the last two are for other watches):1. OEM PAM rubber;2. Dangerous 9's 1926 ammo strap on a Roland Kobalia .950 silver buckle with X mas logo (this one will get a thread of it's own, what an amazing piece of history);3. PAM Assolutamente strap;4. Stone Creek's rolled edge black gator;5. Gunny's super smooth black calf;6. Stone Creek's black ammo (mounted on the watch);7. Ted Su's greyish/blue croco;8. Mario Paci's grey distressed;9. Kain Heritage's dusky brown with dlc buckleHere are some group shots of the watch and all the straps:Up close...Some gratuitous lume shots:And the obligatory wrist shots, along with some individual strap shots :And, finally, the gorgeous case back:I
