Chopard 28/8965-23 wrist watches news:
If you are a frequenter of any of the popular watch forums you most certainly have seen the discussion pop up regarding fakes, homages and replicas and each persons opinion on each. This is a common topic and often a heated one as some people have very strong feelings regarding one term or another. But, sometimes the discussion is muddled by varying definitions of the terms and which is appropriate in which situation. Having been part of these conversations I have my own thoughts on these terms as they apply to our hobby; my opinion is not the final word, obviously, but my own take based on the definitions of the terms.Let’s start with what I feel is the most misused term when it comes to watches: replica. When this word is most often used it is in reference to a watch that makes its best efforts to look exactly like another watch only made by a different manufacture. The idea is to as closely replicate the real watch, hence the term replica. That does fit in with the definition
This is more of a humor thread than anything else, but if you're anything like me (sarcastic and probably a bit too observant), you see a lot of watch ads that make bogus claims, or use funny or inflammatory advertising language to describe the features of their watches. I have kept an unofficial running list of these and add them as I come across them. Here are a few: Water resistant to 100 meters (suitable for showering and washing hands, but not submersion). -I guess the 100 meters means that you could walk to within about 300 feet of a body of water before the crystal fogs up from the insideProtective acrylic crystal. -Aside from the fact that 'acrylic crystal' is an oxymoron, acrylic could probably only be considered 'protective' if compared only to having a crystal made of Jello, or no crystal at all...Non-water resistant. Not suitable for swimming or diving -OK, now I get it! That finally explains why all of the watches I buy that aren't water resistant are being ruined

I recently received a copy of the Harrods Magazine which included a watch supplement.Apparently Harrods are selling a RO 40th Anniversary Grand Complication limited edition of one piece only. These are pics of the article below. I would have thought that AP would have auctioned off such a unique piece.
Hey guys,I am curious to hear your opinion about the future demand of the 5168G and its potential success. Will it be as hard to get as the 5711 blue? Will we see prices on the grey market above retail (on chrono24 it gets offered for around 10k more than retail)?Does anyone have numbers on how much they will produce or on how many will get shipped? I heard that just a handful will hit certain regional markets.
