Lange is introducing a new pink gold version of the 31, the first mechanical watch to achieve a power reserve of 31 days. The movement is powered by two stacked mainspring barrels, each with a spring that is slightly more than 6 feet long. A constant-force escapement between the twin mainspring barrels and the going train assures that the balance receives an identical amount of energy every ten seconds, regardless of the state of wind of the springs. This much power takes up space, making the Lange 31 movement as large as some watches: 37.3 millimeters in diameter and 9.6 millimeters thick. This presented challenges to Lange’s designers. For example, on the dial alone, the designers considered more than 70 versions over 2 years. Tiny details, such as whether the hour markers should be a fraction of a millimeter longer or shorter, were considered. O.K. I'm really procrastinating on getting the house ready for guests, but, Who out there, matches their watch to their outfit? Not just the style (i.e. dress watch to a suit, sports watch to casual or biz casual), but brown strap to brown belt to brown shoes? If you are wearing black accessories (black belt, and shoes), would you wear a watch with a brown strap if it had a black face? Would you wear a watch with a black strap with a brown belt and brown shoes?See what I'm saying? My mind's aglow with transient nodes of thought, cascading in a waterfall of cosmic invention!

Trip to Vegas Boutique
Just got back from Christmas in Vegas. Took a trip around to most of the watch shops. No surprise my favorite was the AP Boutique.Molly, the salesperson, was really nice and encouraged me to try on almost all the pieces. Finally got to see a 26320 blue dial in person. Pictures do not do this blue dial justice at all! It's definitely on the list now.Also tried on a 26320 in gold with a white dial. Absolutely stunning piece. After trying on a PP 5711 in gold and a DD40 in platinum I'd have to say that the 26320 is my favorite. Panerai deployant buckle a pain-literally!
Hi TRF friends,I purchased a PAM 0164 recently from the Panerai AD in Dubai and am now regretting buying it. The watch is beautiful but the deployant buckle a real pain in literal terms. It's very heavy, gets stuck in the wrist and by the end of the day the whole wrist is in pain. I have tried alternating between the alligator and rubber straps but the problem persists. Even wearing it a bit loose doesn't help. Have any of you experienced the same problem?I called up the AD in Dubai (I live in Pakistan) and they informed me that ordering a strap and pin buckle can take upto 3 months and will cost anything between 400 to 600 USD. Can you believe it ? Makes me wish I had gone for the PAMs 312 or 359 which were about 800 USD more but at least had the pin buckle plus a 3 day power reserve.Can any of you recommend any good aftermarket straps and Pre-Vendome pin buckle suppliers. I tried ordering them online from panatime but for some reason they were not accepting Pakistani credit cards. Ar
