Why Are Watches So Expensive?
I get asked this question a lot so I figured I would simply layout a number of the reasons why watches are expensive in an article. There is a threshold issues though - and that is between "expensive" and "overpriced." Those two items are not mutually exclusive, and are different.Expensive just means that something costs a lot, but there is good reason for the price. Overpriced means that something simply has a cost that is vastly in excess of the materials cost + marketing costs + development costs + manufacturing cost + distribution costs + fair profit. Expensive watches and overpriced watches are very common. And unfortunately overpriced ones are too common. At the same time, you need to ask yourself, "if a brand asks a certain overpriced amount for a watch, but is still able to sell them, can you still regard the watch as being overpriced?" OK, well my eyesight has changed and the funny thing was once I got GlassesI was surprised how good looking my ORIS TT really is. Amazing what you see when you can see clearly. I may have to retake photos when I get time, I'm sure it was affecting my photography.

Watch Product Placement
Hey guys, just wondering what product placement for watches you have seen in movies/tv. My first example is from HBO's Entourage (notorious for product placement). Sometime during last season, every character started wearing an Audemars Piguet. Ari is given a gold Royal Oak as a gift and is told that it is "perhaps the finest timepiece in existence". Earlier, when Ari is meeting with a friend who has financial problems, his assistant says "maybe you shouldn't wear such a nice watch so he doesn't feel bad", to which Ari replies, while giving him his credit card "Go down to the jewelry store and grab me a stainless Rolex". Obviously an attempt to suggest that the real bosses don't wear Rolexes, they wear AP.My second example is from Ironman. There is a point where Tony Stark looks at his watch and the camera switches to a perfectly clear and long close-up of his watch, a gold Hublot Big Bang.

AP ROC 26300 Question
Hi everyone i just passed local used watch shop today and i saw this AP ROC not sure about the REF but the closest is 26300 it wears very nice and almost pull the triggerbefore i make decissions what to look when buying it?what is the fair price for it , i know it's expensive to service an AP watch but the shop owner guarantee the the unit function well thanks in advance
