- This watch has a very classic and sophicated style, but it can be a everyday watch as well. The numbers give it an up to date younger look. I was very pleased.

Jaeger-Lecoultre 1708470 wrist watches news:
Most of you may have known this stuff, but I found it a really cool article.Remarkable clocks and watches: the first - and only - watch on the moonSince 1969 Omega has been able to promote its Speedmaster chronograph as the "first watch on the moon." NASA had chosen the Swiss-made timekeeper for all its astronauts four years earlier, so it was natural that Buzz Aldrin should have been wearing it when he took his momentous step onto the lunar surface. Before NASA made its selection, the Speedmaster and its rivals were subjected to rigorous testing: simmered for hours at a temperature of 93 degrees Celsius (199¡ãF), then immediately frozen at –18 (–0.5¡ãF), left in pure oxygen for two days, struck, compressed, decompressed, vibratedThe Speedmaster was the only one to emerge well within the allowed deviation of 5 seconds per day. What makes the Speedmaster so special?A timepiece that goes into space faces challenges unknown on earth. The atmospheric pressure inside the watch mig
HiA few weeks ago I picked up a Benrus for $3. It had the stem rusted to the movement and case. I was going to use it for servicing practice. Thanks to help from members here I manged to get the rusted stem out, find a movement and a replacement stem and fit the new stem. I then partially disassembled the movement(I'm new at this), did some oiling and cleaning and now the watch runs fine. In the future I plan to take a crack at cleaning the dial. BTW, if you clean a metal dial in a Ultrasonic cleaner it will come out clean as a whistle. It will also remove all the numbers and the minute track. Thanks all for helping me get this good looking watch back to keeping time. Here are some photos.Tony

Caught some warm rays going down on my Pateks.
Did a search in the classifieds on TRF!!!Was surprised to see more SD43 50Th listedfor sale than SD4K¡¯s... More than 60% listed on the Anniversary model versus the disco¡¯edSD4K... Only a few SD4K¡¯s listed for resale... interesting Looks like the SD4K owners are more likely to hold on to it rather than flip... I must say since recently acquiring one myself I find myself admiring it more and more ... Anyone think the hype over the 50Th might be dwindling down?Prices don¡¯t reflect this at the moment but the availability on the grey market and resale quantity is certainly abundant... Anywho, just thought it was an interesting comparison to point out in relation to future prospecting and collectibility...What will the future hold for the Sea Dweller, thoughts ?Pics anyone??? We love pics on TRF!!! Here¡¯s my SD4K... let¡¯s see both 50Th Anniv and SD4K C ...For that matter let¡¯s even older SD¡¯s for comparison...
