Chopard 168490-3002 wrist watches news:
Greetings all.I would like to introduce myself and say how much the I appreciate the information on this board. Looks like a great place to hang out and learn. Perhaps I can contribute something meaningful every now and then. Thanks,RichardMy new Yummy.
Well the postman came and delivered something other than bills today whoopee. It is a Swiss Legend Watch that I won off the bay and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the watch. It is 46mm and this is the 2nd Swiss Legend in my collection which has really impressed me and I very happy with it. This weekend I plan on spending some quality time with my camera so that my future pics look a little better.
Here it is. A little smaller than I expected, but certainly feels sturdy enough. Came with a few unusual features (at least, unusual to my experience with consumer watches). It has two buttons, but one seems to be recessed (just below the visible one) and I had to use a pen-tip to click it; this is the button used to program the watch, so it's essentially impossible to alter the settings by mistake. The second is the date function; it remembers the month and day you set it to (I've never had a watch able to do so before).Overall, it's a nifty little device.
I was in Tysons Corner, VA area for meetings, stopped by the Mall for lunch and walked into to the only AP AD in the area. I know the sales people very well and they take good care of me. I really wanted to try on the 39mm Explorer one more time before pulling the trigger on one, but there I was drifting towards the AP case instead...I got to try on the new 44mm carbon chronograph in black, very nice piece, especially the weight in relation to the size, but then sales guy - knowing me - insisted that I try on the classic 42mm rose gold chrono. And I was stupid enough to agree... Wow! Just wow! I'm totally blown away by that watch!I never see myself dropping $55,000 (regardless of what the discount might end up being) given how many kids I have (and yet to put through college), but if I could spare the change I would surely strongly considering awarding myself of of these pieces. What a wonderful piece of horology![photo cred: AP's website]
If anyone's seen the new iPad edition of QP magazine you might have seen that issue 1 had a feature on pilots watches, including the 5524. Or at least so I thought from the magazine's description. However, I downloaded it and there's nothing in there. Pretty poor that QP sells magazines with that kind of misrepresentation
