- I LOVE this watch! I get compliments on it all the time. Nice quality, easy to read, looks hot. The only blem I have with it is that it is not water resistant. If it were water resistant, it would be perfect.

Chopard 143573-1001 wrist watches news:
RGM makes watches in Lancaster County,? Pennsylvania, which is a hub of American watch making. In fact, the majority of hands-on watch making that occurs in America today is in, or near Pennsylvania. A fact that strikes me as curious given the remote nature of some of these towns, but makes sense if you compare it to fine German and Swiss watch making towns. You'd be surprised to know that most of the independent watch makers in Germany and Switzerland are based in old farmhouses or alike building in tiny rural areas. take the famous Glashutte region, which is basically a one street village. I don't know why this is, but it must mean that watch makers don't like to be bothered. Thus, you'll find a lot of homegrown American watch making in what is essentially Amish country. Go Figure.RGM is a special watch company in America because they produce one of the first American made watch movements to have been developed in a long time. This movement is not in all of their watches, as they mos
(before and after)I know several purists will cringe that it will take away from the 'value' of the watch, but I really could care less. This watch will be never sold anyway as I specifically searched high and low for a Speedy with 321 caliberthat was made in 1965 - the year I was born. Well,...I found one and in addition to placing a see-through case-back on it, I also had some of the screws blued by flame by my watchmaker.I just love this vintage Lemania based chrono and how colorful it was to begin with and I thoughtthat blue screws would add to that a little more spark. I am happy with the results and only wanted to share a quick photo here that I took in my office as I just picked up the watch from my watchmaker a couple of hours ago.
Hey guys!I got another size 3/0s Elgin in the mail today in need of restoration (as usual).Serial number on the movement dates to 1918 just as it should.Once I removed the dial I turned it over to see if it was date stamped (not all of them are stamped).I had to do a double take ! ! !The dial has a date stamp of 10 18 for October 1918, nothing unusual.BUT ! ! ! ! ! !This dial is DOUBLE STAMPED ! ! ! ! ! It has an extra RED stamp that reads "8 .1"Can't say that I have ever seen a double stamped Elgin dial before and I have not ever seen a RED stamp on one either for that matter, the stamps are ALWAYS black. You can clearly see that the stamps are different. The dot on the RED stamp is MUCH closer to the 8 while the black stamp has the dot right in the center separating the 10 and the 18.I deal with these dials pretty much on a daily basis and I've NEVER seen a RED stamp ! ! ! ! !What in the heck is this RED stamp ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? And what does it mean ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? A da

I see a lot of panerai watches for sale here and while most list for under retail even if BNIB I know there are some that appreciate. Aside from the bronzos, which PAMs have typically held their value or go up?
