Chopard 168459-3008 wrist watches news:
Today sees the launch of the Swatch Sistem51 and the fire burns bright once more.Swatch watches were one of the guilty pleasures of my youth. When the Swatch craze took over the world in the early 90's, I was there in the thick of it. I remember going to Swatch boutiques looking for the "Bora Bora", the headline watch of the Scuba 200 series, and even starting a collection of the Swatch quartz chronographs when they first came out. Then, when the Midge Ure song "Breathe" came out, I was singing along like no tomorrow, making sure that I had a carefully selected Swatch on my wrist when it happened. There was something very cool about the attitude that Swatch embodied, and as a young boy whose only other option was a Casio or Seiko, everything by Swatch was instantly?elevated?to something special.?Of course, I grew up and Swatch was resolutely forgotten in?favor?of more sober watches in more traditional?colors. The?bright and sometimes gaudy designs of Swatch were put away.My early love f
I own a pair of this watch - one in white gold & one in yellow gold, 192 grams and 186 grams. They are equipped with the best Tuning Fork/StimmGabel Movement Beta 21 which is accurate within 5 sec per months - however Omegaz' MegaQuartz 2400 (marine chronometer) was normally accurate within 0,4 sec per month.iwcforum/Articles/200...naissance.htmliwc/museum/tour-en.asp I don't know if the link to the IWC museum i working, but according to the info, it has been made in a limited serie of 600 watches. What I do not know if these Da Vincis were made in a total of 600 or if there were 600 yellow gold ones. However, the white gold must be very rare.If ever sold, they will be sold as a pair. The white gold does not look very expensive = Anti Robbing Watch.Anyone has ideas of production figures? Or value?Should these have a less value in the same material and band as the Renaizzanze Da Vinci (same model)?F Y I - the main weight is in the casing - the bands are astonishing light
That felt like the longest drive home ever! But this is what I got home to:Whoa, that's a bigger box than I expected.and now I see why - look at the nice wooden box and all the trimmings inside:I had no idea what the list price was until now. Believe me when I say it's a good time to buy watches like this on the pre-owned market.Okay, enough fooling around. It winds like butter, feels almost like it isn't there, and looks better than I expected it to. A very light polish (and I mean only a touch or two with a Cape Cod cloth at most) and a quick check to make sure the movement is good to go and this'll be a regular in the rotation. Of course, the ceremonial wrist shot:Better shots coming over the next few days as time and light allows....
Searching for a new timepiece for my wife...I would appreciate suggestions that meet the criteria below..1. Quartz Movement2. Perpetual Calendar (wish, not must have)3. Date Display4. Functioning Bezel 5. Water Resistant 100 feet or more6. Under $1,000 USD7. Can be sized up to 37-38mm, does not necessarily have to be a ladies watch, per se...Looking forward to hearing from everyone who has thoughts...Thanks,Lawrence
I should be getting a near mint Speedmaster 3570.50 next week. I'm excited. I have always like this watch, but never got around to getting one. I guess with the Apollo XI anniversary last month and I'm reading a great book right now, Moon Shot, it put me over the edge.Pics to follow when it arrives.
