Chopard 16/8961 wrist watches news:
I recently bought my first Rolex, an OP Date. I told a Lodge buddy about it and he asked, 'Why did you buy one?, I would have given you one." Naturally I didn't think he was serious. So today at lunch he saw my OP and said he liked it. About an hour after lunch he called and asked if he could stop by the house. When he got here he handed me a pristine mid 1990's OP all SS Air King. It was beautiful. Even the braclet was nearly perfect. We yakked for awhile and before taking off he said, "Wear it in good health." I was staggered!!. We've been close for years. Lodge officers, we go out for coffee alot, and ride our Harleys together. But, this was unexpected. How can i ever repay my pal?????
As a vintage watch newbie I'd appreciate some advice. I recently received my first manual wind watch being a 1956 Seamaster cal 248 17j. The dealer in the US has told me that it was running, but has no service history. When fully wound it runs, keeping quite accurate time, but stops after about 15hrs. I imagined that a correctly running manual movement should run for at least 24hrs. If so, should I expect a simple service to correct the problem or should it be pulled down completely to get it working to correctly ?

This is my 85 year old fathers watch and he just gave it to me to remember him by. His father bought this watch, and two additional ones identical, for him and his two brothers. It was always cool as a young kid getting together and seeing my uncles with the same watch my father had. My father wore it every day for decades until he got an Ironman watch that he could beat up and the Sportsmatic went into a drawer to be passed on to me someday. Dads got Parkinsons and won't be around much longer and I'd like to get the watch refurbished before he goes. I'd love for him to see it all shiney and new before he passes. The problem is I like watches, I just don't work on them. It needs to be done right and I don't know anyone who could do it right. So, does anyone know anyone reputable and trustworthy either on this forum, or online, or in Albuquerque that could refurbish this watch, and do it right? I think the curved crystal will be hard to find and it might need a new movement. When I sha
Hello all, just looking for some advice/experiences: Just picked up a P series PAM 389 in almost new condition and noticed it was running 10-15 minutes slow every hour. During a 30 second staring session I realized the second hand would move and stop, intermittently, and randomly. When the second hand stops, it only resumes movement after I pick up the watch and move it around or manually wind it. Any thoughts are welcomed. Thank you in advance.
