Citizen JY0040-59L wrist watches news:
My latest from Bryan...
....and looking good, I may add!My watchmaker cleaned, oiled and adjusted this 42 year old beauty, buffed the case and gave her a new crystal. I'm very happy with the results. His only regret was being unable to find a new crown, which could stand to be replaced. I found a 17mm Ventura band which looks right at home, I think. Thanks for letting me share my vintage beauty!
Ok Stan, Just for you!Let's see those "Off-Set Crowns!"These are some of the coolest and hardest to find cases around.Off-Set Admiral Evans:Off-Set Round Sterling:Off-Set with Intigrated Shrapnel Guard:A super pair of Off-Set Black and White Pershings:
I'll try to keep this as close to standard review formats I've seen. My watch is from the Limited Edition run - #6 of 100 made. Comments welcome afterwards, positive or negative! If, by chance, this is to be added to the review forum please delete/edit as necessary.SPECIFICATIONSManufacturer: Maurice LaCroixModel: Masterpiece L.E. Open Heart Reference #: MP7108Movement: ML101 manual wind (based on the Peseux 7046)Case: 18K pink goldStrap & Clasp: Brown crocodile with 18K buckleDimension: 40 mm without crownList retail: $8650SCORESStrap & Clasp: 9.5/10 - I'm a fan of the croc/buckle combination so this rates high. Unlike some colors, the brown is very natural looking. The buckle is in the shape of the "M" in the company's logo. Replacement straps and buckles can be purchased from the USA Headquarters in North Jersey. Strap = $290, buckle = $410.Operation: 5/5 - The large crown makes winding and setting simple, and there's a definitive stop when fully wound at @ 35 twist
Lug chamfers add such a design element and charm to a case, but have been diminished in time to their current non existence. Has anyone modified the 6 digit case with chamfers ?If so, please post some photos !I understand the purist view of never modifying a Rolex, and usually share the view because of my vintage interests. Due to massive production and the eventual decline in watch interest, many 6 digit watches will not become vintage collectibles. If a watch is a keeper, not be sold, why not ?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
