Citizen BJ2105-51E wrist watches news:
The March 2011 series of disasters in Japan really sucked for them, and it still sucks for them. It was like a triple play of Armageddon leaving even Godzilla offering to help pick up the rubble. Joking aside, much of Japan is in bad shape? - though the country is help together by the people's pride and cultural ability to survive and thrive after disaster strikes. As is the case with most all natural disasters, entities both private and public come to help. Corporations like to hold special events or create special products to aid recovery causes. Are these actions commercially driven? Sure, but it is the thought that counts right. Japan has always been a healthy market for Audemars Piguet and now, about six months after the fact when Japan is still in recovery mode, AP has launched two money raising charity programs. Oh, and worth noting is that Audemars Piguet will not charge for labor fixing any AP watches that may have been damaged as an effect of the disaster in Japan. Check with
Here's a little tidbit about what's left of the US Watchmaking Schools. Some are closing down. Why? Maybe the Swiss have invaded and have done as much as possible to discourage people from entering the profession. I'm taking an unpopular stand here, but I think it's worth examining.I found this write-up on Wikipedia:The Lititz Watch Technicum is a watchmaking school located in Lititz, Pennsylvania. The school, founded by Rolex in 2001, was created to help make up for the deficiency of skilled watchmakers in the US.The Technicum offers a two-year, 3000+ hour SAWTA (Swiss American Watchmaker's Training Alliance) curriculum. Tuition is free for the 14 students accepted each year. The students are expected to pay for their tools which, according to the school, currently cost around $6000. The program focuses on micromechanics and watch service with a strong emphasis on chronographs. What's the Swiss American Watchmaker's Training Alliance? Something I have navigated away from. It's owned b
Hello, I currently own a Royal oak 15400 Rose gold white dial on a brown leather strap. I really love this watch but have thought about purchasing the bracelet for it for some time now. My local boutique gave me a quote of 18k for the rose gold bracelet. Do any of you guys now a different place where the bracelet can be purchased? or is going straight to the boutique my best move.
I would appreciate your opinions.I sent in my $150, waited about 3 months and received my Extract.I will try to make this short. The Speedy I purchased is a 105.012-65 with a 1506 bracelet and #16 ends. Original dial, dot over 90 bezel, and original hands. When I received the watch I immediately had it serviced. Unfortunately, it needed a new chrono second hand as whoever did the previous service glued the chrono second hand back on and that original second hand could not be re-used in my service. I also had the hesalite crystal replaced with an original. The watch is now accurate to about 3 seconds per day with a 55 hour power reserve. Great watch!I bought the watch from the second owner who says the original owner bought the watch in the US, lived in the US for about 30 years, moved to London for about 20 years and then back to the US before passing away. The Extract I received says the watch is a 105.003 delivered in Great Britain in 1966 with No information regarding the band. I qu
Hello All:Thanks to all the enablers on this forum. Several days ago I acquired the 5711, which was a watch I have been drooling over for a long time. I love so many things about the watch. The blue dial is stunning and has such a wide variation of colors as evidenced by my photos below...I can stare at it for hours. The bracelet is gorgeous and probably the most comfortable SS bracelet I have ever had. I have worn this with a suit and with jeans and a t-shirt, and I find the watch to be pretty versatile. I have no regrets as making this my daily watch or that I gave up some great pieces to get into my personal grail. My only slight concern is that I have noticed some hair pinching when the watch slides. Has anyone else experienced this with this watch and if so, how do I fix this? The watch fits pretty well and has a little room to slide, but I'm wondering if it is worth investing in a half link and hoping that it won't slide as much? Any and all feedback is greatly apprec
