Invicta 17428 wrist watches news:
Hi Guys,Thanks for the very positive comments on my new WG DDII - my grail!I have been wearing it steadily since Friday when I picked it up from the AD. I must say that it is amazingly accurate right out of the box, so far, not having gained or lost even a second! That's very impressive. I think the watch is very beautiful and classic, yet contemporary in its 41 mm size. Some, mostly on other forums but here too, don't seem to like it and criticize its design. Actually, I think it is extremely well designed and very beautiful. Yes, the bezel is larger; yes, the crown is small, etc. But overall, to me it is well balanced and an outstanding design; I think it represents an evolution (not revolution) of the classic and very beautiful 36 mm DD, which to my eyes, seems a little small by today's standards on most men. Please, please do not take that as a criticism - the 36 mm DD is a gorgeous watch in its own right. For those of you fortunate to own a DD in any size, I admire your taste!Som
Such as it is....Here's the lot of my auto's and one mechanical. Most of the dates and times (well, almost) are correct except for a Longines which is a pain to get both the day and date correct and the Accutron which I missed. Stuhrling, Orient Star, Orient M-Force, and an Invicta (Selitta SW200) just to the right.Orient, and two HammiesVictorinox and Deep BlueLongines and TissotGruen, Tissot, Frederique ConstantTimex, Oris, OrientVictorinox and Accutron
Omega Seamaster - Planet Ocean - Chronograph - 45mmSo if anyone else around here knows Patrick (OCROLEXGUY),you already know he makes deals so enticing,it is hard to turn them down.I swore I'd stop after my 3rd deal with him,as i'm heading for the poor house, after a stop at divorce court, but then saw this thing and he made it so I just couldn't walk away..Absolutely love everything about, despite knowing nothing about these watches.Try one, you'll love it!A big, fat, shiny work of art,b.m.h.o...Thanks again Patrick!
I have a newbie question about my new-to-me Speedy Snoopy (1861 movement). Is there any danger to the movement if I move the minute hand backward to correct the time since it runs a few seconds fast each day?I don't expect to have to do this often (I'm not fanatical about to-the-second time), but I would just as soon not move forward, say, 11 hrs and 58 minutes if it's eventually running two minutes fast if I don't have to. Thanks in advance.
This is an observation, not a knock. I have been wearing Panerai for about 3-4years. First the 88, now the 422. Before that, Rolex only for a long time. Mostly sport models in SS. Long story short, the Rolex I miss the most and still admire greatly is the GMTIIC in SS. Mine kept crazy accurate time and I think it's the most striking and beautiful piece in the current Rolex SS line-up. A real gem.I have been wrestling with re-acquiring the GMTIIC. I visited my local AD yesterday, took off my 422 and tried it on. It is still beautiful, the craftsmanship remains world class, the bezel shines and the hint of green is perfect. But, it looked soooo small. I could not believe it. I'm 6' tall with nearly an 8 wrist. I had never before felt that a Rolex looked small on me but this damn thing looked puny. I left the AD feeling kind of down like one who left home never to return. Again, not a knock nor a commentary on craftsmanship, value, trendiness, etc., and I remain one who loves and respect
