Corum A947/02946 wrist watches news:
The original IWC Portofino ref. 5251, introduced in the early 80s, has achieved cult status. That 46mm x 6mm icon with its 16 3/4 lignes caliber 9521 pocket watch movement proved a prescient preview of things to come. At SIHH 2011, IWC will debut four new Portofino models.UPDATE: Look inside for pricing information and launch dates.2011 is the year of the Portofino family at IWC, and the least conspicuous way of wearing an IWC is the Portofino Automatic (Ref. 3565). This classic model now comes in a 40mm case which, thanks to a reworking of the design, makes the watch look even slimmer. Its classic shape is reminiscent of the IWC models from the 1960s, without looking ¡°retro.¡± The Portofino Automatic will be available in red gold with a silver-plated dial, and in stainless steel with a choice of silver-colored or black dials. The Portofino Chronograph (Ref. 3910) comes in at 42mm with more rounded contours and flowing lugs. Hello Everybody, this is my first unboxing thread here on TRF,i recently bought myself a new AP ROC.This is it for now!have a good one!
Maybe silly question, but why did Rolex move away from domed glass? Modern aesthetics? Due to anti-reflective capabaility of domed sapphire? Sure there¡¯s a simple explanation I¡¯m not aware of. I know the black bay fifty eight has a slight dome. Just love the look of classic glass. It¡¯s my greatest motivation to picking up a classic sub rather than modern. Any insight would be appreciated.
I just picked up my 50th Anniversary Submariner which I have owned for almost 10 years from the Rolex Boutique here in Southern California. This was the 2nd time I had taken it back to them for a service within 3 months. It was not even close on accuracy after the first service. The dealer said they would ship it back to Dallas to have them recalibrate it again. So essentially I was without the watch for nearly 4 months. I asked them if they could expedite it since it took 8 weeks the first time and it wasn't serviced correctly but they said No, it will take another 8 weeks. It was a disappointing experience. The store seemed like they could care less. I have no idea if they even sent it back for a recalibration. I hope so! I am going to check the accuracy but I guess in the future I should take it directly to Rolex in Beverly Hills or ship my watches myself. Has anyone else had a poor experience with Rolex service? Has anyone bypassed the AD stores? I know some prefer independent s
