Please Identify My Longines 8 Day Clock
I have found this clock in my late fathers possessions and I need help to identify the model and date and worth etc.

Recently Acquired Jazzmaster PR..Initial Impressions
Have had a Jazzmaster P.R.(black dial, SS bracelet) for a few days nowI had bought it used for about 1/2 the price of retail from a music shop owner who had owned it about 4 months...he tired of the black dial & got a new one w/ a silver dial).....Not yet having worn my Hammy MultiTouch yet, this is the only watch I have worn recently w/ a bracelet other than my Seiko SPB0001...I must say, this bracelet is quite thin, w/ no rough edges to the touch...it is surprisingly comfortable to wear and seems quite light..it seems almost delicate, like the "rice" type of bracelet found on some Omegas(it is also not a hair puller!!!)...it has the ETA 2897 movement(I think) and I am happy to report it is keeping excellent time so far(seems to rival the accuracy of the Valjoux 7750 in my brown dialed Khaki Chrono!!!)....Wore it to bed last night(yes, it that comfortable..I didn't notice it at all!!!)...maybe because I haven't had a chance to wear it outside of my office/house much yet, the lume

In defense of the Patek E23 (on ref. 3747)
I own the 3747 and love it. Yes, it's a Quartz and not mechanical. Frankly, I don't care. The watch itself is gorgeous (I'm getting it serviced by Patek now and have ordered a navy blue stitched alligator strap which I'll post once I have the watch back). I also love the date function, which unfortunately is missing on the new Golden Ellipse models. Couple of reasons why I purchased this watch: A. Did I say it's gorgeous? I know it's more expensive than other Quartz watches, but the quality and aesthetics of this piece are, quite frankly, unmatched. B. I don't have to wind it - ever.C. It tells me the perfect time - every day.D. The service costs are considerably more cheaper.E. I can put it away and wear my Audemars automatic watch for weeks and know that when I pick up the Patek, it will be running (assuming of course the battery doesn't need to be replaced ;))If Patek ever comes out with a GE with a date function in an automatic movement, I could consider upgrading.
