There should be no more doubts about retrofiting 5146/1G to leather strap.
(please excuse the poor quality of generic calf strap - it was used only for 'fitting purposes')This discussion comes up often and when folks call Patek, the official 'party lineanswer' is usually: "No it cannot be done"Well...it can be...with simple watchmaker tools and skill it took 5 minutes toremove the bracelet, place the leather strap on, take pictures, remove theleather strap and place the white gold metal bracelet back on....so there you have it.....if you are a fan of 5146/1G on bracelet, you know you can have it on strap as well (Christiaan, how is that fer' you, Pal ?? ;)

Curious prices on a new watch
I came across the listing for a Maurice Lacroix in Amazon. I know amazon is not an authorized reseller, but I found two watches of seemingly same model with only a difference in the dial color being priced drastically differently.The black dialed watch priced at $1126 and the white dialed watch priced about $700 less.The model numbers are PT6058-SS001-11E (white) & PT6058-SS001-31E (black).I did notice that the white also had only two left in stock. It has since gone out of stock with 50% help from me.Why would the white one be priced at such a low price? Is black more preferable or is it just a pricing glitch by amazon?@ $400 is this a good buy?

Newbie questions on AP ROO Panda strap
Hi All,Forgive my ignorance - and perhaps some of you might just reply with a Here we go again :D- How do you clean leather (hornback???) strap? The AD sold me a spray polish but i presume this only works for the metal bits?- I found the clasp/buckle rather difficult to take off. I need to pull the clasp quite hard if i want to take the watch off (much harder at least compared to a Rolex strap - for example). Is this normal?

Christmas Comes Early!
My wife and I had to do a little holiday shopping this weekend so we braved the mall on Saturday.
