How is a watch valued?
I'm new the WTF and over last couple weeks I've been reading about and educating myself about watches. Looking into what I like and don't like. What I want to buy and what I can't afford by really want :-). Lot's of nice stuff out there. The one question I'm curious about is....How is a watch valued? Meaning, how is a watch priced and why? I think I know the answer to this, but I would be curious on other input/thoughts on this. Example - Dive watches. look at these four watches. All are your basic dive watch. No chrono movement or "special" features. They all are automatic. What is the Seiko about $300 while the others are $1000+. Oris - $1600, Omega $2000 and Doxa $3000. My quess is you are buying name and resale value. What do you all think.
