Just a few days ago I received a nice package from good folks at Patek Philippe.It contained all press releases and DVDs from Basel 2009. Of course I read all of them cover-to-cover and will be posting some neat pictures soon, but I thought I would share some interesting numbers with you. Many of these numbers are well know but perhaps some of you are new to the brand and will enjoy new info: - PP offers currently 20 base calibers (14 for wristwatches, 6 for pocket watches) - currently offering 45 movement types or derivations of base movements - inventory includes 7000+ different parts - about 10,000,000 components are required each year for production - factory uses only about 230 state of the art precision production machines as hand production and assembly prevail - Annual production is about 40,000 watches (roughly 30,000 mechanical and 10,000 ladies quartz models) - total number of employees: 1300 - total number of watchmakers: only about 200 - Distribution: about 500 retailers i
