Ebel 9157F11-4225 wrist watches news:
Got my new "Men's Health" magazine in the mail the other day and as a WIS I couldn't help notice what he was sporting on his wristlooks like a Sub, right?at least it looked like one to meHe may be a WIS too, as he's pulling a classic WIS move, casually rolling up his shirt cuffs exposing his watch for all to viewHe's in one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen "In the Company of Men". One of my most favorite portrayals of evil.Cheers,Steve R"IN THE COMPANY OF MEN is about a psychological love triangle set within 90s corporate culture.Chad and Howard, two young white collar executives from a home office in a nameless city, are first seen en route to a six-week business trip at a branch office. Both are frustrated by their lot in life passed over for promotions by younger colleagues at work and rejected by their respective long term girlfriends so they formulate a plan that will bond them in their pain in order to ultimately feel better about themselves as men. All they need n
I have noticed that a number of black-dial Hamiltons with movement calibers of 649 and 987A and 987S are currently available on eBay. I would like to pick one of these up, and I wondered if there are any glaring bugaboos that Hamilton collectors look for in acquiring these pieces.I know that from 1969-1973 Hamilton was in a "joint venture" with Buren and I think they used the same ebauche frequently (always?). (BTW, I am not referring to any quartz movements.) My thinking is that the quality attitudes of Hamilton were still in place during their association with Buren, and such a watch might be a good acquisition (not for re-selling in the near future). Also, I know that the British Army picked up a few of these, with the prefix W-10 to all the numbers on the caseback. Was it the same watch at the ones sold to the British Army by CWC? (Monobloc case, movement accessed through the front by removing the crystal first, hooded lugs, tonneau case shape.)I"m not looking for detailed advice, j
Yesterday, I went to the mall to get something for my camera and while I was there, decided I may as well check out a few watches in the couple nice stores they have there. I had a couple of nice conversations with some sales people, especially in the second store. Got to try on some Tags, Breitlings, Cartiers, and Rolexes and look at the new lines. But I knew that I almost certainly wasn't going to buy anything. I had fun, but it is always hard to walk away empty handed especially if you find something you like, which I did in a Cartier dress watch I tried on.What do you guys think: is window shopping worth the inevitable let down of not getting a new watch? I tend to think it is, especially with the right kind of sales people who actually know about watches.
