Should we call Corum the manufacture with five roofs?
Though the definition is often stretched and the term is bandied about tirelessly in marketing, we tend to think of a manufacture as a watch company that makes its watches under one roof. Should we call Corum the manufacture with five roofs? I, for one, prefer their own metaphor of the hand.

If you were aghast over the condition of the Omega pie pan, you will be appalled at this Jaeger. To let a watch this fine deteriorate into this shape is criminal. Fortunately I saved it from being junked at the last minute. An eBay seller listed it as parts & scrap gold with a starting bid at $295. This was just about the low estimate of what it's value was for that purpose. I contacted him and we agreed on $350 plus $6 shipping. As you can see, the crown is snapped off, the lugs are bent inward, and the second hand vanished:This was the seller's picture:Inside is a manual wind caliber 883 that was in sad shape. The 88x series are still used. I can't find the picture though - I must have inadvertently deleted that a few months back during a Photobucket purge. I'm kicking myself over some of those lost shots. :mad: Like all JLC movements, it was a fine example of horological mastery...and it will again tick as new because the watchmakers at Jaeger LeCoultre are the best in

14060 vs 14060m
Hey everybody. I'm well on my way in my quest to get my Sub No-Date (1/3 the way there to be exact ) And I came accross something that I just couldnt find anywhere. I know they had non cosc 14060's and 14060M's but what is the difference between them. I thought this would have been discussed on here but I couldnt find it. There is probably some difference in the movement or something but I just need someone to enlighten me on the details. Also, based on whatever the diferences are would it be worth it to add the extra cash to get the M or just get the older model. Thanks in advance for your insight!
