for us to open this morning:
I had been on the hunt for a few months now for my first dress watch in a precious metal, and after considering options like the A. Lange and Sohne Saxonia and Vacheron Constantin Patrimony, I finally decided on the iconic Patek Philippe Calatrava 5119J in yellow gold with the Clous de Paris or hobnail bezel. I also briefly considered the Calatrava 5120 with the micro-rotor calibre 240, but I preferred the slightly larger size of the 5119, the shape of the hands and the petite seconds subdial, which add a bit of visual interest to the otherwise austere dial.I visited many Patek Philippe authorized dealers, both within the United States and in Europe, and while many had the 5119 in rose gold, none had the yellow gold version in stock, and most were quoting a waiting period of about 6 months to a year. I mean no-one. I note that there are quite a few on the grey market for $17.5-20k, which makes me wonder if there are any with the AD's. It stands to reason that if the GM sellers can get them, then there must be some around. Of course, it could be that the current
