Heading to Germany in August - Canadian dollar is strong - looking at Baume + Mercier, IWC or a German made not-available-in-north america watch. Budget $5K-$10K I see Wempe is a big retailer - is that safe or stick to independents?Danke!

"Old Dogs" Movie
Today, one of my bosses took us to the mivies (His treat) and the movie we saw was "Old Dogs". I understand that John Travolta is a Breitling man, and in many of the shots he had several different beautiful watches on. I counted 3 different watches that he wore in the movie. Robin Williams wore what I thought is the same watch throughout, and while it looked very interesting, I was wondering if anyone else may know what it was.Am I too obsessive about this????

Vintage RO Bracelet Stretch/restoration
Hi Friends, Merry ChristmasI was trying to look up on this topic but can't seem to find any concrete answers here. Hopefully if anyone can chime in on this matter.I'd looked at a vintage RO 25654 BA in 18k Yellow gold. However I found the several links to be quite worn with significant play between them. I know the end bars are welded at the end (there is a very mersmerizing video of how the RO bracelet is craftedWould AP be able to service/restore the condition during the spa sessions?Also would you guys have experience getting the watch authenticated at the boutique if it's a private dealer's transaction.Thanks for the help guys

Went to buy a Milgauss GV, came home with this instead...
Last friday I decided to do some watch shopping. In the crosshairs was the Milgauss GV, Daytona or a Datejust II. At the rolex AD the GV and Daytona fell flat for me, they just didn't get my pulse racing like they should at that price. The DJII was surprisingly amazing, with black stick dial and fluted WG bezel it was a vision of classic beauty with a modern twist. I left the AD thinking I would just grab some lunch, hit the other Omega AD, and go back for the DJII. Well I made the mistake of asking the Omega AD if he had a Ploprof, and you bet they did, with extra orange strap. It was love at first sight and there was no question that I had to have this watch. It was a feast for the eyes, and a pleasure to handle and wear. Truly a superb piece, that holds its own against the Deepsea. I wouldn't say it is equal to the Deepsea, but its very close in quality and refinement, with a rich history to back it up. Enjoy the pics, I'm loving this piece.
