- I just bought the this watch. It is my first Burberry. I have lots of other watches (Movados, Gucci, Bulova and Wittnauers) and this one for some reason has a different type of elegance...it was love at first sight! Highly recommend!!!

Girard Perregaux 80484D52P762-BK7A wrist watches news:
Contributed by Mark Carson of Individual DesignIf you've ever seen a watch with a slide rule bezel and haven't known how to use it, we have a little guide for you.As many of you know, watches with slide rule functions have 2 logarithmic scales (the outer of which turns). In contrast, a tachymeter scale is hyperbolic and typically has numbers that run in from infinity down to sixty. Both slide rule and tachymeter watches use non-linear scales. Let's look a bit at a generic scale.NOTE - the images shown are a bit rough as they are not photographs of an actual circular slide rule. This scale might not look like all slide rule bezels, but there are analog indicators on most slide rule bezels so that the same functions can be used. The following examples show some common uses of a circular slide rule:Calculating a 15% tip (I know, I'm cheap) - just the tip amount in this case:The goal: Calculate 15% of $20.00.Set the outer ring's "1.5" (for 15%) over the inner ring index ("1").Find "2" (for
You would be hard-pressed to find a more somber blue on the color palette, but that’s just how we like our Bauhaus – subdued and straightforward. The new True Blue Zurich Weltzeit is NOMOS’ chic take on its exquisite GMT that made headlines a few years back (check out this old-skool Week on the Wrist) and a recent appearance at HODINKEE’S event to welcome NOMOS to the States earlier this summer. Let’s dive right in.It’s unlikely for a HODINKEE reader to be unfamiliar with NOMOS, but just in case you haven’t had the privilege of being introduced to the younger German – here’s a quick preface. NOMOS Glashütte was born in '91 in the little town of Glashütte, Germany. If that name sounds familiar, that's because it’s also the birthplace of A. Lange & Söhne, the house that pioneered the three-quarter plate. Nivarox was patented here, and clearly, pedigree is contagious in this environment. 2 OF 3
I was on eBay earlier looking at Seamasters and came across this abomination:cgi.ebay/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:ITJust at a glance I can see that:1) The dial and bezel are the wrong shade of blue.2) The bracelet is made of cheap folded links.3) The endlinks are hollow.4) The clasp is completely wrong.5) Bond model Seamasters don't have display backs. 6) Helium escape valve placement is wrong. 7) No lume dot on the bezel.
I'm hoping a few of you can help me out on this. I've got the Glycine Lagunare L1000 Chrono and really love the watch. But the rubber strapnot so much. I've come to the conclusion as I evaluate my collection that buckles and I simply don't play well together. They just seem bulky, cumbersome, and a pain to operate when a rubber strap is paired to a buckle featuring a bent tang (I hope "tang" is the right word). That's what I have in the case of my Lagunare as shown in the picture to follow. In all of these years as a watch enthusiast, I've never ordered a true custom strap for any of my time pieces. I've typically been content with what they originally came with. But for the Glycine, I'm wanting to get a true custom leather strap (my choice of leather, thread color, etc.) with a deployant buckle. It seems like all of the strap-makers use their own preferred buckle designs in their creations but no deployants. But did I mention buckles and I don't get along? I would really like
A description of this watch would not be appealing to me: big, bulky, flashy, and big. Wait, did I say big twice? Well, for me it's big. But for some reason I really like it!019.jpg018.jpg
