The Tissot PowerMatic 80 Movement: 80 Hour Power Reserve--Your thoughts/oberservation
MWas looking at watches and came across the Tissot PowerMatic 80 movement, which as its name implies, has a power reserve of 80 hoursfixed. Right now, I think, though I could be wrong, it is exclusive to Tissot, but I'd guess will be farmed out through the Swatch family, if it already hasn't.Anyway, the movement is officially called the ETA C07.111. To achieve the large power reserve, it has 2 less jewels, some new parts that exhibit less friction, and the bph has been reduced from 28,800 to 21,600.As with a lot of things in life, there are compromises, To achieve the power reserve they wanted, ETA made the movement work less hard.So here, I'll ask, what do you think of the movement? Does the decrease in the bph make it less desirable? Or, does the enhanced power reserve

Few hours to decide..... 5980/1AR
Had tentatively asked my AD to look out for a Nautilus for me, to complete my trio with my 5167A and Calatrava. I was hoping they wouldn¡¯t call too since (only six weeks or so since I picked up the 5167A) and, when they did, my preferred model would have been a 5711/1A. The blue dial, the SS, and the price (22k GBP) all feel right. So.... they have a 5980/1AR coming in, as a customer who had ordered that some while ago can¡¯t complete for some reason. Suspect a few people have been called so would need to go in today. I¡¯ve never seen a Nautilus in the two-tone look, and is it a model that justifies the considerable extra price compared to the 5711?

5167a longer wait than 5711
I called my AD (UK)Im about 6 months into a12 month wait for a 5711When it occurred to me- that I do actually like the 5167a and it's ¡ê5000 less - so perhaps it's the path of least resistance both chronologically and financiallyBut they say - it's 2 years waiting time!! I was shockedI'm off to Italy next month -where might be a good place to try ? Anyone know?!

5200G Gondolo Availability???
This new model was introduced at Basel 2013 and has yet to show up at AD's. Does anyone know the status or time frame for when it may arrive?? Thanks.

White ss skyd, pull the trigger?
