Alright, I know for most of us there are a combination of factors that draw us to the brand. Hi all,Thought I'd share the new purchase. Ck2998 to go with the speedy pro and couple of Rolex that I have. Really like it. For now, strap only as don't have a bracelet but that's no prob as both of the Rolex and my speedy pro live on theirs so it's a nice change and a dress up for the suit.I know this watch doesn't get much love, but as a value proposition I think it's just about fine compared to the speedy with the sapphire and the ceramic. I did pay slightly over list, but that's the way of the world in the U.K. As we stand and I'm actually pretty pleased I got it for where I did. Wears slightly smaller than the pro, and achieves the vintage/dressy look pretty well imo.I will get a couple of new straps. I love the blue, but to avoid a blue overload may get a brown and a nylon/cordura. I will also invest eventually in a bracelet although they are tough to find. It's amazing. I started off with Rolex and thought I'd want nothing else. A speedy pro and now this has me thinking. Some d

Just received my first Panerai
I just traded for and received my first ever Panerai that my son is now wearing. A Luminox Daylight Pam 00356 Chronograph. It got my attention as probably, to me, the nicest Panerai I had seen yet. The strap quick change and date quick change really do work nice. Excellent watch.

Insightful Rolex event last night (UK relevance)
Had the absolute pleasure of being invited along to a Scottish Rolex & Tudor event last night.Aside from the delicious dinner and free flowing champagne and wine all night (for which I'm suffering today), there was a large display of the Basel 2017 releases (a mix of fully functional and display models) and many other references to try throughout the evening.I believe that the event was a joint Rolex and AD affair, with the opportunity to speak to both the AD's owners (one of whom I was sitting beside during dinner) and Rolex directly, and in a quite frank and open manner.Some of the key points which may be of interest (and confirming much of what we understand) as discussed were:1) Rolex is not happy about people buying to flip and make a quick profit2) AD's are indeed under pressure from Rolex to try and prevent that happening and are mindful of their agency (and retaining it) That's not as bad as it sounds, but it does make perfect sense for an AD not to upset a particular man
