What does it take for one to spend about $7,000 - $10,000 (or more) on a quartz chronograph watch? And I mean an educated watch lover who knows about movements and isn't just buying for looks? Is there such a watch? Maybeand maybe it is something like this Quinting Mysterious Chronograph. Certainly a rare breed, Quinting is a Swiss brand that makes all quartz movements, I mean mysterious quartz movements.The Quinting Mysterious Chronograph is really of the more complicated watches that Quinting makes. The actual name of it is pretty strange as it is called the "Quinting Chronograph Mysterious Quinting." Don't ask, I don't understand either.? The movements they produce are actually located in the bezel of the watch and involve a series of motors that turn sapphire crystal discs. The discs move the hands. As the chronograph models have a lot of hands, the watch movement gets really complicated. The chronograph movement for example utilizes 13 separate discs in the dial. You can see right

HelloGot the new SS Daytona last Friday.Definitly the most elegant and versatile Rolex. A sports watch to be worn even with a tux.My condition of Rolexitis is not improving.Collection now:GMT Pepsi - 16710DJ - 16200 Tudor - 94210 (I consider it part of the family)Milgauss GVSS Daytona - 116520 (white Dial)My last two acquisitions Milgauss GV and SS Daytona .....squeak.Sound coming between the bracelet and the lugs.I don,t remember this from my older watches.Did anybody else experience this?Is the noise due to the SEL?Does the ..squeaking stop after some time?Pete

sorry if already posted......if you are from the boston area you most likely know of alpha omega jewelers a long time retail chain of 4 stores that sold high end watches and jewelry.the doors were closed about a week ago amid stories of debt. here is one of the stories that was in the boston globe newspaper.boston/business/artic..._omega/?page=1a-o was a favorite place of mine to visit as they had an extensive display of rolex, omega, jaeger lecoultre , iwc, tag, breitling and many others over the years.as the story mentions, a-o has a large repair business and i hope the owners get their timepieces back quickly.about 3 weeks ago, i had just picked up a tag and a tissot that i had brought in for regular service. i feel fortunate i got them when i did!i hope they get things straightened out and re-open.

Hi all. I'm still trying to acquire my first PP while hoping to make as good a decision as I did when I bought my Rolex 16610LV over 5 years ago. I love my Submariner but have found myself enchanted with the classic looks of the 5035J or the Moonphase. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for something along those lines that is 1) lease likely to lose value and 2) might be closer to the $10K range? Thanks!
