Graham 2SWAS.B13A wrist watches news:
Watch winders¡ They're kind of a mysterious watch accessory. They can be had for very cheap, or for way too much, yet in the end of the day all do the same thing, save a perk or two. Pricing comes down to, like watches themselves, quality of components and finish. They range from pure business in black plastic with slightly noisy motors that you can tuck away on a shelf, to models built of luxurious hardwoods and leather, driven by precision engines that are dead silent and look better on a coffee table. They can turn just one watch, or a whole collection. No matter what, the goal is to keep your watches wound and in good condition. For those of us who collect watches in the more affordable and accessible spectrum, likely the first consideration is cost. I'd rather save my dough for the watches themselves, so spending more than $200 is quite unlikely, and even for that much, I'd want something pretty decent. Yes, a cheap winder with multiple slots is always tempting, but the reality of
just seen limited edition double chrongraph...whie face, orange/red hands. Apparently from Euro 2008 made for home teams. Anyone know of these and if worht collecting. Looks great BTW.
Being a Freemason, I collect lots of Masonic items. Rings, Watches, old Past Masters Jewels, you get the idea. Recently bought a vintage Hamilton Masonic dial for a great price. On the envelope it says "747" and under it 95749. Could the 747 be the Hamilton movement number??? It's small and rectangular like the Hamilton dials from the 40's. It has the place for the sub hand, and on the back of the dial are two protruding pins at 11:00 and 5:00. Any ideas???
Posted already in the Hamilton forum, but, had to post here as well Been eyeballing this watch at a local AD for a few days and today we agreed on a good price First Hamilton for me, but, likely not my last! The price point for these guys is perfect enough for me to buy them under my wife's radar
