Cons-The writing and the silver parts on the compass dial begins to fade within the first month. I'm not sure the accuracy of the compass itself sometimes. You have to make sure to look up your declination to set the watch right from the start.

I don't really understand the 1942 designation as production started in 1934. The last 1942s were produced in 1950.This is the movement that got me started. It’s the Waltham 6/0 ‘42 that was made during WWII for A-11 spec military watches. They are 16 jewel movements with the center second complication and hacking function.Then I found later versions of the center second movement.The 6/0 B with 16 jewels.The 6/0 C with 16 jewels.And the 6/0 D which added a 17th jewel at the top of the center wheel.At the same time, Waltham produced a matching series of movements with the more common sub seconds configuration.
