First Hamilton: a Grant?, have questions.
Hello, I found this Hamilton, and it is my first one. From a little research, I think it is a Grant model from around 1934-1937??. It works great, and is very clean all around.The brown leather band looks nice and old, and is in good condition, no cracks. It has HAMILTON imprinted on the band, and H Sterling on both the buckle and the tang. The face of the watch has a nice wood grain pattern on it, it is silver or white gold?The hands look like the black enamel.Do you think this is all original, or are there any obvious refinishing or wrong parts on it?Also, if anyone knows whether this is a scarce model, or production #s, I would appreciate it.Thanks, alot. Got to love these old Hamiltons.

Speedmaster Professional Presentation Box
I bought my Speedy Pro back in July, before the reference number changed and Omega added the special presentation box. I found out they could be ordered separately, and decided to add one to my collection.Even the box the box came in is pretty nice.

Omega 8500 Caliber putting some pressure on Rolex...
The specs on the new 8500 movement from Omega are pretty amazing....Double barrel design (DLC coated) with a 60 hour power reserveDual directional winding automaticFree sprung balanceFull balance bridge39 jewels202 partsCOSC certificationIt looks to me as though Omega bench marked the now 20 year old 3135 and just upped it everywhere that it could. What do you guys think? Should Rolex be worried? Should they fight back with an update or reworking of their base calibers or do you think that they just don't care?Personally, I was really shocked by the difference in the Omega 2500 caliber that was beating inside my Planet Ocean and the 3130 inside my Submariner (which should arrive early next week - the waiting is killing me). I think Omega is just catching up with Rolex in the 8500 caliber and that Rolex should feel no immediate threat. Patek Nautilus 5711/1A completed package?
Hello everyone...thinking of pulling the trigger on PP Nautilus 5711/1A. from AD. Watch is beautiful. Been wanting one for years. Watch of course is new. Has everything Certificate and nice big wooden box. What trouble me is that you know how it also comes w/small box and plastic pouch when AD gets from PP. They said under new PP policy they are to destroyed them. So my question to u is would u be a bother to this??? I want a completed package. I am thinking of waiting for asking them to get another order? Should I buy now or wait. Thanks in advance.

As much as I have been enjoying the smooth bezel silver dial on oyster. I still could not stop peeking at the the blue dial fluted. After seeing smooth bezel on oyster bracelet, I hatched a plan. I slowly implemented it. The results are below.
