Oh, yes! I love the hunt and the anticipation, but the first time you lay eyes on one of the elusive ones that now is part of your stable it's sweet! Here it is - the rg Conquest that I was looking for (please pardon the dust and reflections):It's getting tough to find the correct, original crown on these babies.The applied logo is in awesome shape, and the text on the dial is perfect. many of these watches have partially missing letters or look like they're sliding down the dial. And of course, the raised relief & painted logo in pristine shape:Okay, now to make this educational so I'm not just showing off (although there's nothing wrong with sharing a cool vintage pice any day). The reasons this particular watch was a grail of mine:1) The date window at 12 - most were at 3. So I was buying myself some new snowboard boots and I caught a glimpse of this beauty in the accessories display. For $15, I just had to have it. Do you think it's a fake?Is this what the dial is supposed to say?The quality is uh...acceptable for a watch that is supposed to be given away when someone buys a 2010 Rome snowboard. The gold coloring on the bracelet doesn't even make it halfway around the links, and the clasp is a really really cheaply made press & snap variety. It DOES have a screwdown crown though, and I think that overall it's just a sweet watch

I haven't thought about new watches in a very long time, but my niece who's just out of college, wants to buy a watch for her fianc¨¦.....so she came to me......and now me to you.She's looking for something that balances between casual and dress, leather band or stainless bracelet. With a $500.00 cap, what do you suggest? Should she stay away from automatic movements in this price range? Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to get a discount on a blnr?
So I have decided now to go for a gmt blnr. The question is what should I do in terms of buying it? This time I have chosen to go with an AD but I just can't seem to get any discount even though I'm offering cash. The only way I can theoretically get a discount is by going over the bridge to New Jersey to avoid the 6% tax. is there any chance an ad from a different state would discount and ship? How would I find them? Even at that point though I would lose the tax advantage. I really have no interest at all buying from the grey market, I had a bad first time experience with a preowned and that has given me the mindset that this next watch needs to be from an AD. Has anyone had a recent experience buying a blnr? Thanks.
