For 2010 Jaeger-LeCoultre expands the Duom¨¨tre family with the addition of the 42mm Duom¨¨tre ¨¤ Quanti¨¨me Lunaire. This piece displays time with a jumping foudroyante seconds hand showing 1/6th of a second increments, along with the date and the age of the moon. The “dual-wing” movement features two independent power supplies: one regulated by the escapement and balance, and the other for the time, date and age of the moon displays. The dual-wing architecture bypasses the problem of additional complications affecting the smooth flow of power to the escapement, and so allows precise timekeeping even in a very complicated watch. Could someone please help me. I purchased this watch yesterday. It has a "countdown" feature for yachting whereby the chronograph function counts down 10 minutes prior to a race. My question is: is there a way that I can start the chronograph at the 12 o"clock possition to time events. Starting the chronograph at the 10 o'clock position mandates that I add 10 minutes to the elapsed time to get the correct elapsed time. It is confusing.Thank you.wanthonymd@aol

Vintage Non-Chronos?
If you search the Fleab for Breitling vintage, you'll get a lot of hits for watches that are not chronographs. Knowing that the chronograph has been Breitling's calling card for the company's entire history, and knowing what the chrono/non-chrono split is in the current line, I have to wonder: are all of those real? Did Breitling really make that many non-chronos 50 years ago? Or is someone painting a name on a Brand X dial?
