What Book About American Wrist Watches Got it Right, This One Did NOT!
Hey guys!I ordered my copy of "American Wristwatches, Five Decades of Style & Design" a few days ago and it arrived about 30 minutes ago. I was VERY excited to see what it had to say so I opened it at once. After about 15 minutes I became VERY disappointed! I found no less than five major mistakes within the Elgin military watches alone! Wrong dates that the dials were available, wrong hands, wrong movement jewel counts that were available that year in certain grades and so on! I paid $50.00 for this book and I was really looking forward to expanding my knowledge on other brands and styles, now I own a $50.00 doorstop! I am VERY reluctant to study this book further as I do not want to learn any incorrect information! I do NOT claim to be the end all, be all when it comes to WWI era Elgin military watches by any means but I know that the book is wrong!!!!!! Sorry for my rant but how difficult is it to check your facts before you publish a book?!?!?!

Buying Explorer thats come from Taiwan
I've been searching for a Rolex Explorer 114270 for some time and one has come up with the following detailsIn immaculate condition, from 2004.It has its original Rolex warranty paperwork from Taiwan (country code 828)The watch has been checked against the available registries to ensure it has a clean history.With an original Rolex box.The watch is now in England and with a dealer based in London, apart from the visual checks as to its condition, do I need to be concern that its come in from Taiwan and does the country that a Rolex comes from have an effect the value? N.B It makes no difference at all to me as the condition speaks for Its self and I believe a Rolex is a Rolex, I just want make sure I'm not missing anything,

Officially a member of the BLNR , arrived today.
Like many members here I wasnĄŻt sure if should buy or waited for the Basel world. Glad I didnĄŻt waited. Bought my Daytona last week because I wasnĄŻt able to find any other sports model I wanted. Then; Last Friday, my dealer called to inform me a client didnĄŻt go thru with the BLNR purchase and gave me the priority. I slept on it, just spent 30+k for the Daytona not sure it I can spoil my self like that. Decided to move forward because the demand is there and I donĄŻt want to miss the chance, watch was sent overnight but the NY snowstorm caused a day delay. Just received today! Love the blue on the bezel! IĄŻm sure liking it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
