Hi folks, I'm new here. I used to collect pocket watches - my wife even sewed watch pockets in my pants so I could carry one, which I did as my only watch! I collected Hamiltons, because of the history, and because I'm a Pennsylvania boy myself.Well, along came two kids, and between one thing and another, I reduced my modest collection to a MUCH more modest collection (just 4 left!), and stopped carrying them, got a cheap quartz wristwatch, and essentially 'hibernated', horologically speaking, until about a year ago. price increase jan 2nd 2013?
I heard from a couple different sources that AP plans on hitting the US with a price increase the day after newyears.. has anyone else heard of this?The problem is, i have had a watch on order for the past 3 months and it has not come in, I have paid for 90% of the watch and now I fear getting hit with a price increase which is unfair I think.. I will just cancel my order if thats the case. Not going to pay for AP making me wait on a watch that i have been ready to buy for months.

116618 with diamond dial
Anyone have one of these - 116618 diamond dial? I don't think they made too many of them. I know diamonds on a sub are not everyone's taste. Anyway...saw one for sale and it looked beautiful. I wondered everyone's thoughts in comparison to the sunburst dial. To those who have it how do you like it? Any regrets in not getting the sunburst dial? any wrist shots? Can you wear it daily? I am tempted to buy it. Thanks!
