Hi:What markings would be on a solid gold vintage buckle?I'm looking at one that has a marking of "14K" on the tang, and "Longines" on the underside of the buckle.Would it be solid gold, or filled gold?Trying to find a nice vintage buckle. Thanks for any help!Russ
Hey guys,So I recently decided I wanted to buy a new watch. I was all ready to spend a pretty penny on a new watch, but couldn't find a "style" I liked. I decided to look at vintage watches, and decided on a Hamilton. I found one in a local watch store. The owner didn't really know much about it, other than it being from the 1950s. It looks to be in really good condition, so I am assuming refinished dial. It was only $140 and the owner let me take it to a watchsmith to have them look at it, so I figured it was worth it (worse case scenario I have a decent looking watch, haha). It has a 661 movement in it and the watchsmith said it was in excellent condition. I have scanned the 1950s catalogues that were posted on the forum and none of them jumped out as being this watch I figured if anyone could tell me about this watch, it would be someone here! Thanks.
I'm looking to buy a watch and need help finding the "one". I've always been a fan of Tag, but would like to see what else is out there. I don't know much about watches, so you're talking to a noob here. Here are some specs of what I'm looking for:-$1k price tag (give or take a bit)-Classy enough for business meetings, but comfortable enough for every day wear-No preference if automatic or quartz-40mm seems to be a good size for my wrist-I prefer a more simplistic or sleek rather than a complicated or busy look-Steel or metal bracelet preferredAny help is much appreciated!
movies.yahoo/blogs/movie-...222943812.html I have to admit i never knew James Bond wore a Breitling in any of the movies.
