Hublot 341.SX.2710.NR.1104.JEANS wrist watches news:
Hey guys, This may be a dumb question, but just wondering if anyone on here has thoughts/insight. I'd like to get a vintage chronograph, but looking at eBay a lot of them are $500-2000 or even more. I've noticed some that need service/repair for $100-200. Just curious, is there any way to predict how much it would cost to repair these? Would most watch repair shops be able to repair a chronograph from the 40s or 50s? Is there anything in the description I could look for that would indicate a relatively cheap repair ($200 or less)? I am guessing that if they were easy/relatively cheap to repair, the owners would do that rather than selling them off on eBay, but I hope I'm wrong lol. for example: Vintage Rare Doxa Triple Date Chronograph Valjoux 72C FOR Repair Any advice would be great! Cheers
All righty then!!!! Since it's the BBQ season (well, I actually grill all year 'round so it's always the season) I figured I'd post a few pics of some recent BBQ & Bezel action.I may sound like an infomercial but I have to give my Orion Cooker a plug here. I got it last summer and it smokes food to perfection and it's basically idiot proof. Just set it and forget it and in an hour and fifteen minutes you have amazing fall off the bone smoked ribs, chicken, salmon, brisket you name it.I use the bezel on my watch for a lot of things but it's most fun using it for BBQ :-)

I just saw a story on the Today show...A World War 2 bomber pilot was shot down and taken prisoner in Germany. On a whim he ordered a Patek Philippe watch and promising to pay for it when he was released. Four months later they sent him one at the POW camp! Fast forward, several years ago it was stolen...When the people at PP heard about it, they sent him a free replacement...anyway, the video is here....today/ Really cool story.
I wonder if anyone out there can help me understand the reference numbers given to the booklets/manuals that are issued by Rolex. I have just purchased a superb Datejust 16030 1988 and it came with everything except the Rolex booklet/manual and I am trying to workout which Datejust booklet(I.e 593.02 Eng -100-1.1988..?.) it should of had so I can possibly look to purchase a pre-used one....any help would be appreciated even if it is to understand what the numbers in the reference stand for. Thanks in advance.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
