Richard Mille’s first foray into the dive watch genre was the $495,000, RM025 tourbillon chronograph measuring 50.7mm in diameter and 19.1mm thick. His new RM028 diver is more in tune with the times – a bit smaller and a bit simpler. The RM028 measures 47mm x 14.6mm and it offers hours, minutes, central seconds and date. But like all Richard Mille creations, it contains its fair share of interesting technical features and exotic materials. The chief weapon in the 028’s technical arsenal is Mille’s exclusive variable rotor geometry that allows the owner to adjust the watch to wind faster or slower, to account for the owner’s activity level. The curved, three-piece case is titanium, as are the movement’s bottom plate, bridges and balance cock.
