The Cartier Tank is one of the most recognizable watch designs of all time. With the classic, linear design, the Tank never goes out of favor. Today I am going to review the Tank Anglaise, the latest addition to the Tank family, which is an updated version of the classic. 1 OF 8 2 OF 8 First, a little background on the Cartier Tank. The prototype for the Cartier Tank was designed during the First World War in 1917 by Louis Cartier, with the watch breaking onto the market in 1919. The industrial design was inspired by the horizontal section of the Renault tank. It is traditionally thought that, the prototype was given in 1918 to General John Joseph Pershing who was the commanding officer of the American Expeditionary Force in Europe. The Seiko MM300 is, without a doubt, one of the classic divers but it¡¯s also quite a difficult watch to do photographic justice to. I¡¯ve shot a few of them over the years and never have I been completely satisfied with the overall result. When I photograph a watch I¡¯m trying to translate exactly what I see into the image and this has been the problem with the MM300. I hate it and have sold it..I've had the watch for a couple weeks points:- nothing feels like this on the wrist, NOTHING! How they managed to make such an imposing watch so comfortable is nothing short of incredible. It's more comfortable that my DSSD on bracelet. -Watch is dead on accurate, +/-1 sec, matched only by my DD-Design is work of art, the bevels, shapes, edges, and finishing are perfect, the tang buckle is satisfying to lock into place and the etched AP logo is a wink to remind this subtle, yet classy tasteful excess. -Dial is legible and stays true to the classic. Anyone of these things could be said about many watches, any combination could be said about fewer, and to have all in one watch is truly to be experienced. The one intangible, is the history of AP and knowing the care they take of their customers (as many here attest to, and I'm sure if I ever need it, i won't have a worry). This is my favorite watch in the collection.

My Experience at the Royal Oak 40th Anniversary Exhibition @ Singapore
Set in the exotic venue of the historic Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, the Royal Oak 40th Anniversary Exhibition came to the last leg of its world tour in Singapore from 10 - 14 Oct 2012. Thanks to AP, Timezone and my AD, my partner and I were very fortunate to be invited to the cocktail receptions to witness and participate in the wonderful celebration of one of the most iconic horology creations in our time. Naturally, the highlight of the exhibition was the 100 iconic Royal Oak timepieces and invaluable memorabilia dating back to the beginning of the 70s. However, we were equally fascinated by the exciting atmosphere, artistic deco, and the wonderful cuisines and live performances. Of course, for a watch enthusiast, the best part for me was definitely the opportunity to interact with the watchmakers at the Workshop!
