Hublot 511.OX.9010.LR.1704 wrist watches news:
I stopped off at the watch shop in my local mall yesterday to see if anything interesting had shown up in the pre-owned section. To my surprise I discovered that the shop was now carrying new Hamiltons. They had a nice selection of Classics and Khakis. I tried on a Mechanical Officer's watch with leather strap. It looked and felt nice on my wrist. I asked if they discount and the answer was no. I suppose it is a mixed blessing. At full retail I can resist the temptation.
Hello all. I'm looking into picking up a couple of time pieces in the near future. What are your thoughts on Seiko watches? I've looked at tons of lines, and I feel like they have the best options within my price range (no higher than 500). Would you recommend a different brand instead? I prefer metal bands to leather, and preferably want a black face. Thanks in advance!
I've been studying watches a lot lately and have started to zero in on some interesting rules of design that relate to 'on-wrist' proportions for various wearer circumstances as well as visual illusions that impact our perception of a watch face with respect to aesthetics. I thought I'd share some of my discoveries. The first discovery relates to weather a watch looks as big as its measurements, or if it looks larger or smaller. Take this quick test and I'll follow with my analysis. The facts about these two watches are obscured but legible, at the bottom border of the picture. Don't cheat! just first answer, then look down. Here's the question"which watch appears largest and why?"Watch_fc_Illusion.jpg
Anybody know where I can find an inexpensive looking new watch that also has an automatic movement.Any suggestions on brand? Pictures would be helpful. Thanks
Can someone please explain to me why there's so much negativity surrounding the 5726, whenever it's mentioned in tandem with the 5711 or 5712? Whenever I read reviews about this watch (Hodinkee, etc.), they're all in love with the 5726. But on this website it appears as though it gets knocked around like a rotten tomato. To me, the mechanism of the 5726 seems superior to the others since it's an AC, and the dial sure looks a lot more balanced and eye-appealing than the asymmetric 5712. Yet it appears that the 5711 and 5712 get so much more attention by this website and even some AD's. I'm new at this, so can someone please explain this? I'm confused. Is it just because the 5726 is thicker?
