Hublot 401.NX.0123.GR wrist watches news:
How is it that we can love one unreasonably priced expensive watch while feeling something totally different for another? The unique emotions behind desiring the unnecessary comes into play as we discuss the HYT H2 watch as well as the Breva Genie 01. We also take a close look at the reader response to our recent Rolex Submariner watch review, as well as the pretty cool Antoine Martin Slow Runner and the Basis fitness watch.Listen to episode 133 of the HourTime show watch podcast here. By now you're probably familiar with our A Week On The Wrist reviews, in which we offer a detailed look at the history and technical details of a watch while also explaining what it is like to actually wear the watch. But we know you're not only interested in modern watches, so this is the first of many future A Week On The Wrist reviews looking at vintage classics. To start things off, I took a trans-Atlantic trip with the original automatic alarm watch, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox. 2 OF 41 The Mechanical Alarm The mechanical alarm is an underrated complication. Today we almost all have smartphones of one make or another that can set dozens of alarms for different purposes, alert us to calendar events, and track dozens of appointments at once. So from a pure utility standpoint, the mechanical alarm is a little behind the times. When it comes to charm though, there is nothing like a mechanical alarm wristwatch. 3 OF 41 The Arrow For Setting The
I don't know how it happened but yesterday I wound my PO and it started that click that indicates it fully wound really early...around 20 turns...it was dead since it was in a wall locker for two weeks. So when I now go to wind it since it is stopped it clicks right away and the second hand runs only for 3-4 seconds then stops....Any ideas? I thought from all the experience on this thread most say it cannot be overwound but....Anyone got the number for the Philly service center? It is just out of warranty!
2452jn8_19.jpgOne of the thrift stores I work in got in a 60'/70's (Maybe 50's era??) wind up Helbros (Attached pic isn't the actual watch but the exact model). Anyway, the back, except for the cover, is covered in a greenish gunk; around the cover, the lugs, etc.Whats the safest way to clean this, and what would I use to clean it with?Maybe I should post before/after pics? Thanks!
I was thrilled to finally get the call from my AD that a 5164 had arrived after a very long wait. To me its the perfect travel watch. It's also one of the most under the radar high end watches I have ever seen, and that was also a huge plus. This watch is a great entrance for me into the world of PP and I truly love it. The dial is amazing and it is one aspect that has to be seen in real life to truly appreciate. The travel time function is the single most useful complication for me in daily use and Patek has brilliantly executed it for this watch. Its there when you want and you can hide it when you don't want it. Plus, the push buttons on the side makes changing time zones so easy. I know there are lots of pics of this one here already, but wanted to share a few more.
