Rolex Giveaway
Most of you will probably gasp, but I gave away my first GMT and my Explorer II.The GMT went to my brother and the Explorer II went to my Step dad.They both can afford them, but would never buy one for themselves.I guess I wanted them to have something special and feel the same for Rolex that I do. How frequently can a leather strap get wet?
I just bought a couple of Swatch automatics and they have some really cool, funky, padded leather bands. One is like running show webbing with yellow piping on the outside and untanned leather on the underside. When I wear it, no surprise, it gets darker on the inside from sweat. Which lead me to think, is it better to wash it in cool water, maybe with a mild soap, or just let it air dry and not worry about sweat stains on the inside?What about when the outside (cloth) starts to darken? Surface wash?It's so confusing. All watches are water resistant enough to survive a quick dip in the sink, but the bands?Thanks!
