I have always been fond of watches and mostly just bought what I thought looked good and didn't focus on quality. I'd like to change that. I'd like to buy my first good quality watch. I have owned a Tissot (old Rock Watch made of a solid piece of stone), a Skaagen branded with a Sharper Image label, a Kenneth Cole and a couple of Fossil watches. I have no idea who makes the clothing brand watches and my latest Fossil is a chronograph and the chronograph part of it has already broken after just 7 months wear. I'd like to find something that looks good and is of good quality as well. I have a few things in mind and I am open to suggestions.Needs:I'd like to keep the cost under $500.I want an automatic. Preferably swiss, but open to japanese if they are any good (you guys tell me)It has to have a metal bandIt has to be water resistant as I will swim & bathe in it.It will be my daily wear watch. (I inspect houses all day and climb on roofs so it needs to be durable)I am only in
I'm a newbie to AP and I just received my AP ROO panda dial. I am used to Rolex with its amazing lume. My question is do AP's have any lume? The reason I ask is I can't see anything on my ROOin the dark. Just curious. Thanks
Hey GuysI'm looking to get my first Patek at years end and I am having a hard time deciding what to go for.I know I want the piece to have some complication and I don't have an annual calendar so I have narrowed it down to these two pieces. Nautilus 5712 was also in the running but I feel it's a love/hate relationship that might bother me later on. Couple questions:Is the 5205g casual enough for jeans and polo shirts? (my typical office attire)How do you feel about the tang buckle as opposed to nautilus deployment?I know neither model is collectable but which do you feel will hold it's value better? Which would be an easier flip if I ever wanted to move it?(I normally buy to keep)Aesthetically which do you prefer?Does the 5205 gold trump steel?Regards Tom
