Revelation R-01 Tourbillon Watch
Here is something new. I just learned about Revelation watch and am rather impressed with some of the elements in this watch. When it will be ready I have no idea, but there are a few things neat about this piece. Most notable is the dial that goes from solid to clear. Meaning you can have a more traditional flat black dial with hour indicators, or one that is totally open with a view into the movement. Well, that is the basic idea at least.The Revelation R0-1 timepiece has a complex movement called the TM01 (which is reportedly in-house made). It is manually wound with 48 hours of power reserve and a tourbillon done a bit like the Cartier Astrotourbillon. Rather than rotating on its own axis, the large escapement moves around like a center fugue under the dial with a counterweight. Revelation calls it their "Tourbillon Menage." Rare Elgin Military Dial ! ! !
Hey guys !I picked up this SWEET Elgin Trench Watch at the NAWCC Convention over the weekend. I just got finished putting it all back together a few minutes ago and I wanted to post my results. Elgin made a TON of size 3/0s trench watches but very few were made like this one. Your probably saying to yourself "this looks just like a bunch of other ones that Stan has done", but take a very close look! This is a size 0s Elgin military dial ! ! ! It's a true 28.94mm enamel dial, this is very rare and it's the first one that I have ever seen in a size 0s, in this style. This is a VERY common dial for size 3/0s trench watches but NOT size 0s. Take a look at the length of the minute hand, it does not quite make it all the way out to the outer chapter of minute markers it is about 1mm short. PLUS, this is a 1916 size 0s movement with 15 jewels, rather a hard year to find as this was the final year that Elgin manufactured size 0s. Swiss Army Watch
I have a Swiss Army watch that I've had for years but never worn. I received it as a serverice award at my old company. I know Swiss Army watches can cost several hundred dollars, but given that this was a service award (not a retirement gift or anything), I can't imagine this is all that valuable, but I'd like to consider selling it. Flipping a 16518 Zenith YG Leather Strap Daytona...
...for a Patek 5296R Sector Dial dress watch (38mm, very traditional style, blue hands, fine lines on dial, display caseback, auto).I could simply purchase the PP or flip my Daytona. I am not sure. Is the D a keeper? I have bought it for less than what the dealer would give me for it now. My love for Rolex has cooled down significantly, mainly due to the Bentley-esque change in its buyers demographics.
