A Week On The Wrist: The IWC Mark XVIII
The first time I ever read anything about the IWC Mark series, it was thanks to (of course) everyone's favorite non-watchmaker watch writer, the inimitable Walt Odets, who in his series, "Tweaking The Mark XII" called that particular Mark "every non-pilot's favorite pilot's watch." (I call Mr. Odets a non-watchmaker but of course, while he might not be a card-carrying full time professional, he obviously is a guy who knows his way around a movement, to put it mildly.) Debri/dust on face of Khaki King; should I be concerned?
Hello everyone,I am new to the WTF as of yesterday; it's wonderful reading all of your posts, thank you!I have had my Khaki King Automatic since November, 2004. I had it serviced once, in 2006. At the time of service, the watchmaker said that the rotor on the watch was bent and they asked me if I had been rough with the watch; I had not, the most I have done with my KK is ride my bicycle, street only, and taken a few showers with it on. I realize showering with a 50m resistant watch was not a good idea and do not do that anymore. Anyhow, they serviced the watch, the rotor spins well now.I noticed a piece of dust/fuzz hanging out on the day/date indicator last year and was slightly stressed about it, but at least it stayed there. I just started wearing the watch again a few weeks ago and now the dust has settled on the face near the #4, and I've also noticed other tiny pieces of debri on the face. It's really driving me mad as I am obsessive about my Hamilton; it's my only one!My

People asked to see some of my Ebels, so here's one to start what will be a series of posts over the next few weeks.But first, a little history. Many know this story, but perhaps many more do not. Ebel is one of those strangely obscure brands; they are loved by many watch enthusiasts, but dismissed by others as being a fashion brand. I suspect the reasons behind the dismissal are two-fold: They are owned by the Movado Group, and they seem to have specialized in ladies watches, most of which have...quartz...movements.Let me say this about that. Yes, they sell quartz watches, and yes, they have during various periods (including now, unfortunately) specialized in ladies watches. But their ladies watches are really just plain spectacular. One reason I get away with having 1.) nice watches, and 2.) a happy marriage is that my wife's watch collection is easily as valuable as mine. i've seen some people's watches have the qr code on the left side of the watch. mine doesn't have it. do only models have them or whats going on?

GMT Questions and Ramblings
I¡¯ve been lusting after a GMT for a year or so and finally got the green light from my wife to purchase a milestone watch this Summer. I will finish law school in May and (hopefully) pass the bar at the end of July, results in early August. Knowing this is a popular model, right after receiving the green light, I started in on the hunt with intent to purchase sometime before September 2018 (if I find a deal before then I am ready to jump on it, but no rush). I¡¯ve been torn between a new BLNR and a 16710 Pepsi. I only have one AD nearby and they have never had a GMT in stock when I¡¯ve stopped by, as such, I¡¯ve never seen either a 16710 or the new ceramic GMT in the flesh. For case and bracelet comparisons, I have a M serial 16622 Yacht-Master. Back to the hunt, my wife and I were in Charlotte this weekend and we were able to stop by two ADs near our hotel. The first only had assorted DJs, precious metal Daytonas and a few smaller lady models. However, the second had a new, all black GMT
