IWC IW356516 wrist watches news:
After I received the watch, I Googled on how to set the date or day since there wasn't a button on the side of the case to advance one or the other. The only solution I found was to run the hands past midnight until the date was right and then move the hands back to eight and advance the day.It worked, but when the date was at the 2nd, getting it to the 31st was an undertaking. So I spent a bit more time this morning looking at the CE 13 Benrus movement and came across this Ranfft article. The date can be set by pushing in the crown. Ranfft says that the Benrus CE 13 is a modified ETA 900 movement. It runs at a frequency of 18,000 and has a power reserve of 43 hours.
I'm developing a goal watch (already landed the grail watch). For the same money, would you rather have a Rolex 116520 Daytona with a 4130 Rolex movement, or an Audemars Piguet 25860 Royal Oak chronograph (39mm) with a Frederic Piguet caliber 1185?For the record, I have owned the Rolex, and it remains one of my top three favorite personally owned watches. Clearly I'm a chronograph nut. I did own an AP Moonphase but the dial wasn't my style. I did love the Royal Oak Genta-ness of the bracelet and case, so odds are I would love the AP ROC too.Between the Daytona and ROC, which one and why? And who would throw in a VC Overseas chrono for a few bucks more and get that one instead? (Unsure if I like the VC or just appreciate that freakin' awesome bracelet integrating part of the Maltese cross logo).Apologies to anyone who is put off by these this-or-that posts. It's a guilty pleasure of mine but I respect that it turns a lot of members off. :) Thanks in advance!
Just wondering if you buy this particular model on strap, can the strap be later replaced with the RG bracelet? Or the other way around?
who here owns the Chronomate 44 GMT. and how do you like it? i Own a older model Chronomate Evo and have not had any problem with it but i hear the new B01 movement are not very reliable. wonder what your thoughts are, and if you have any wrist pictures.
Picked up a BLNR from my AD on friday. I also have a SS Sub-C. When i got the Sub-C last year i was also looking at GMTs but really didnt like the polished center links on the bracelet. Well i got the sub and since then the polished center links kinda grew on me so i grabbed a BLNR. Now that i have both im debating on selling the sub-c but looking at them side by side i just love the sub-c brushed links and glidelock clasp. I believe i can simply swap the bracelets and they will fit, correct? Someone mentioned u can swamp the bracelets but not the pins..make sure u swap the pins so the orginal ones stay with the watch to insure they snap in correctly??? So if i can do that i just might. But my main concern is resale value. What do you guys think?
